Navigating the immigration system is one of the hardest things a person can face. The fear, the uncertainty, and the weight of not knowing whether your family will stay together — it’s real, and it matters.
I’ve spent more than 15 years walking alongside families across the Rio Grande Valley and beyond, helping them share their stories with dignity, clarity, and compassion.
My name is Jeanette Gonzalez-Ballesteros, LPC-S. I’m a Licensed Professional Counselor-Supervisor based in McAllen, Texas, providing bilingual psychological evaluations for U Visa, VAWA, and hardship waiver cases throughout the state.
I’m not just your evaluator. I’m your advocate.
WHO I AM
As a South Texas Latina, I understand what it means to live between two worlds — to love this country deeply while navigating systems that don’t always make space for your story.
That lived experience shapes every evaluation I write.
With over 15 years in mental health and wellness, I bring both clinical expertise and genuine human understanding to every case. My evaluations are thorough, compassionate, and written in the language immigration attorneys and USCIS officers need to see — while still honoring the full humanity of the person behind the case.
Every session is conducted directly in English or Spanish, without the need for an interpreter.
Whether you’re a crime victim seeking a U Visa, a survivor of domestic violence filing under VAWA, or a family member fighting to prevent separation through a hardship waiver — your case deserves more than a form.
It deserves a clinician who listens, understands, and fights for your story to be fully heard.
U Visa Evaluation
If you have been a victim of qualifying criminal activity and suffered mental or physical abuse, a U Visa allows you to remain in the U.S. and cooperate with law enforcement. Our evaluation thoroughly documents the psychological trauma you’ve experienced — including PTSD, anxiety, depression, and trauma responses — in a format that meets USCIS clinical standards.
From $850 / evaluation
VAWA Evaluation
The Violence Against Women Act protects survivors of domestic violence, sexual assault, and abuse — regardless of gender. You deserve safety and legal protection. Our trauma-informed evaluations create space for your truth and document the clinical impact of abuse with sensitivity, care, and the precision required by immigration courts.
From $850 / evaluation
Hardship Waiver · Exención por Dificultad
An I-601 or I-601A hardship waiver requires demonstrating that your qualifying U.S. citizen or permanent resident relative would suffer extreme hardship if you were deported. Our evaluation documents the psychological, emotional, financial, and medical hardship your family would face — giving USCIS a complete, compelling picture of what separation truly means.
From $900 / evaluation
